Press ReleaseadBlocks Rebrands Software as adSailsKENNEBUNK, Maine, May 15, 2003 — Ad Blocks will now distinguish between its corporate name and the name of its advertising sales workflow software. Since its beginnings in 1994, Ad Blocks’ corporate and product names have been the same; now they will be distinguished as adBlocks and adSails. This change is coincident with a major rewrite of the advertising sales product that gives it a powerful modern interface and new capabilities to report sales activity. Brendan Haskins, Project Director for the marketing campaign, says: “The dramatic evolution of the software’s interface demanded a new identity, but we wanted to preserve the equity of the adBlocks brand. adBlocks’ dynamic growth over the last several years has made this distinction a natural one.” Rebranding the software allowed the company to develop a more user-friendly, retail-oriented direction, one that is consonant with the product redesign. Annie Kennedy Phelps, Founder of adBlocks, is delighted with the new image: “It reflects the more human software interface. As a company, we have always been committed to improving quality of life for our end-users. The new adSails identity conveys the spirit that motivates our development strategies and business practices.” Most adBlocks clients are in local cable ad sales, with adBlocks holding about 60% of that market. This product rebranding is part of a program to seek new business in other markets, particularly magazine, internet, radio, and signage. Kevin Bowe, Vice President of Sales, says, “Given market trends towards convergence, these new segments are a logical evolution of our position within the ad sales industry. Our expertise in cable is of increasing relevance to other sectors of the advertising sales community. And our experience in these new markets will give us strength to help our old friends.” adBlocks is the premier developer of workflow automation solutions for the advertising sales industry. Founded in 1994 in Kennebunkport, Maine, it numbers some of the largest media companies in the world among its client base. |
